Do you skip leg day?

I apologize if you're tired of the mental fitness and physical fitness parallels, but I can't get them out of my head!

I previously wrote about the fundamentals of the Positive Intelligence® (PQ) mental fitness program, which explains that we have 10 dominant negative mental patterns (Saboteurs) and 5 dominant positive thought patterns (Sage Powers). Given these numbers, it's easy to see why we tend to rely on one pattern more than the other. Although you might think that the Saboteurs overpower the Sage, this is not the case.

The Sage muscles are much stronger than the Saboteur muscles. You're simply not using them. As a softball coach, I tell all my players that their power comes from their legs, regardless of where they play or what they do. This is also true for living a less stressful and more joyful life; all of your power comes from your Sage brain. The problem is that you're skipping leg day. In fact, you've been skipping leg day for most of your adult life.

Let's discuss the concept of neuroplasticity, which is our brain's ability to repair, restructure, and rewire itself. This is what the PQ® Program can do for you. What does "leg day" look like in a mental fitness gym.

In the PQ Gym, mental fitness "reps" (mindfulness or meditation) can range from 3 to 30 minutes. Who has time for that? The good news is that simply doing PQ Reps for 10 seconds at a time throughout the day can produce significant results, including quieter negative thoughts and increased self-command.

Regular PQ Reps throughout the day promote new neural pathways in the Sage brain, which will allow you to catch your Saboteurs and shift into Sage mode to mitigate the impact of stress, anxiety, fear, etc.

Just like in a physical gym, every rep adds up, but only if you go to the gym consistently and regularly. You don't even have to go anywhere to do your PQ Reps; as I said on a recent podcast, you can do them anywhere. Stop allowing your Saboteur brain to put you in a negative headspace. Go from self-doubt to self-assured. Leave anxiety and worry behind, and live life with more patience, joy, and curiosity.
